A carat scale for gems and diamonds
Gemstones are priced by the carat, and one carat is 0.2 g. The GM-50 reads in 0.001 g steps, about 0.005 ct, and switches straight to carats so you don't have to convert.

A complete kit in the box
- Tweezer to place stones without touching them. Oil from fingers adds weight at this accuracy.
- Steel weighing dish with a spout, so you can pour loose stones in and out.
- Two 10 g calibration weights, so you can check and calibrate the scale yourself.
- Clear hinged windshield that keeps air off the pan while it reads.
- Separate ON and OFF keys, plus TARE and MODE for six units: carats, grams, ounces, troy ounces, pennyweight and grains.
- Blue backlit display, overload and low battery signs, and auto off.

How to weigh a stone
- Place the scale on a firm, level table away from fans, AC vents and phones.
- Press ON and let it settle for about a minute with the windshield closed.
- Put the weighing dish on the pan, close the windshield and press TARE.
- Place the stone in the dish with the tweezer and close the windshield.
- Wait for the reading to settle. Press MODE until it shows ct.
- Press OFF when you finish.
Keep it accurate
- Never put more than 50 g on the pan.
- Always use the tweezer for stones and weights.
- Calibrate it with the two 10 g weights as the manual shows.
- Change both AAA batteries together when the low battery sign shows.
- Use it between 10 °C and 40 °C.
