FAQs

Common questions from homes, gas agencies and hotels about the Omace cylinder weight machine.

Can it weigh a full LPG cylinder?

Yes. A full 14.2 kg home cylinder weighs about 30 kg with the cylinder, and a 19 kg commercial cylinder stays under 50 kg. Both are within its limit.

How do I find out how much gas is left?

Weigh the cylinder, then take away the empty weight printed on it. The number you get is the gas left inside.

Where is the empty weight written on the cylinder?

On the metal ring at the top of the cylinder, around the valve. It is marked as the tare weight, often written as TW.

How do I check a new cylinder at delivery?

Weigh it before you accept it. A full home cylinder should read its empty weight plus 14.2 kg.

How do I hang the cylinder on the hook?

Take the regulator off, pass the S-hook through a hole in the top ring, hold the handle with both hands and lift until the cylinder is just off the floor.

Does it need batteries?

No. It has a rechargeable battery built in. Charge it with the adaptor in the box, or use it while it is plugged in.

Is it strong enough for a gas agency or hotel kitchen?

Yes. The die-cast metal body and metal handle are made for lifting cylinders many times a day.

Can I weigh other things with it?

Yes. It weighs rice and flour sacks, crates, parcels and luggage, anything up to 50 kg.
