- Hold the T handle firmly, or hang the ring from a hook.
- With nothing on the hook, check that the scale reads 0. If it doesn't, set it with the zero adjust.
- Hook the bag, basket or parcel on the bottom hook and let it hang gently.
- Wait until it stops swinging. The marked inner tube slides out under the red band.
- Read the mark level with the top of the black tube, with your eyes at the same height.
Weighing goods in a bag
- Hang the empty bag and set the scale to 0 with the zero adjust.
- Fill the bag and weigh again. The reading is the goods only.
Keep it accurate
- Unhook the load once you have read it. A spring kept stretched for long slowly reads high.
- Never hang more than 5 kg.
- Don't drop a load onto the hook or swing it hard.
- Check it now and then with something you know the weight of, such as a sealed 1 kg sugar or atta packet.
- Keep it dry and wipe it with a dry cloth.
- Use it between 10 °C and 40 °C.
